Sired by Bordeaux, known for blending the finest Holstein, Oldenburg, Westphalia, and Trakehner lines, and with Sir Donnerhall as his damsire—a top-ranked elite dressage stallion—Le Formidable embodies equine excellence. Born in 2016, he is recognised for his tall, elegant stature and noble demeanour. His first foals, particularly in the U.S., have exceeded expectations with their consistent type and movement. At the 2019 Stallion licensing, Le Formidable, bred by Saskia Poel and co-owned by Karel Gerrits, captivated the judges. Licensing committee chair Bert Rutten praised him as the undisputed champion, noting his noble elegance and powerful, balanced movement. Bordeaux, his sire, was the 2009 KWPN licensing winner and excelled in international competitions, representing Norway at the 2017 European Championship.
